My NYC Trip

I gonna be visiting NYC from the 1st to the 8th of march. Overdue vacation, if i may say so. Also planning on visiting Washington DC for two days while up there. It's only 35$ a both way ticket. I'm also in a need of a camera. I've been thinking of asking my dad to lend me his but i should really just buy one. I don't need a transformer camera just a camera that can take nice pictures with nice quality for a reasonable price... You know... The kind that cost less than a 100$; yeah i know, i'm cheap. But i don't want to waste much money on the camera so i still have left for my nyc trip. Any recomendations??
